Key Facts

Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Heavitree), The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

We are looking for adult volunteers (18 years of age or older), who have got heart failure (HF) with preserved or mildly reduced ejection fraction and who are carrying extra weight.

Heart failure is a chronic condition in which the heart is unable to perform effectively to meet the body’s needs. Heart failure can get worse over time. This can lead to an increased risk of earlier death, an increase in hospital admissions (hospitalisation) and poor quality of life. Obesity is excessive body fat that increases the risk of various health problems, including heart failure.
